“Living Zoo” by Built to Spill

Providing added excitement to Record Store Day, Built to Spill’s latest release Untethered Moon will be available on vinyl that day, April 18. The digital and CD release will follow on April 21. For anyone that is remotely familiar with Built to Spill’s music, “Living Zoo” won’t change anyone’s perception of the venerable rock band. After six long years, it’s great hearing music from these guys again.

“Don’t Wanna Fight” by Alabama Shakes

This is a great new single from Alabama Shakes from their upcoming sophomore release Sound & Color. It seems as though they polished their sound ever so slightly and it even seems the lead singer Brittany Howard is all the more comfortable with letting loose on her vocals. Look for Sound & Color to be released on April 21 via ATO Records.

“How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful” by Florence + The Machine

It’s now been four years since Florence + The Machine released Ceremonials, and while it’s hard to tell from this video, it doesn’t seem like much has changed since then. Florence Welch’s vocals still have a haunting presence that makes her stand head and shoulders above her contemporaries, while the horns provide a theatrical nature that matches the video. No details have been announced– the album was briefly available for pre-order on iTunes– so check back for additional information as it becomes available.

Also listen to: “Shake it Out”, “Dog Days Are Over”, “You’ve Got the Love”, “Never Let Me Go”, “Only If for a Night”, “Breaking Down”
