“Gardenia” by Iggy Pop

After shacking up with Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, Iggy Pop has completed a new album called Post Pop Depression, due out on March 18 via Loma Vista/Concord. With Matt Helders (Arctic Monkeys) and Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age) also in tow, the album should be a welcome return for one of rock’s great elder statesmen. “Gardenia” itself sounds hauntingly Bowie-esque, and with the lasting impact also of Homme’s experience with the Paris attacks, one can be certain that Post Pop Depression will have much more emotional depth than your run of the mill supergroup project.

Wow – I haven’t heard about him in forever. Is it me or has he been off radar?

He’s been doing tours but nothing in the way of new releases until now.
