No. 14 – Salad Days by Mac Demarco
Demarco has always received as much attention for his songwriting as he has for his onstage antics and overall persona. However, while artists like Ariel Pink have blurred the lines of character and real life to an uncomfortable degree, Demarco continues his freewheeling ways of crafting great songs that never take themselves too seriously, but hold their weight too when critiqued. That brings us to Salad Days, Demarco’s third and best release– the songs are sharper, the production cleaner, yet it still maintains the charm and character that uniquely belong to Mac Demarco as an artist.
