“Blue Moon” by Beck

Everyday Tuneage Best Albums of 2014
No. 25 – Morning Phase by Beck

While Beck’s career may have started on the premise of his quirks, he has shown formidable songwriting ability over the years. The progression continues on Morning Phase, which, for the cynical, could be considered Sea Change Redux. Yes, it does share similarities to that previous work, but rather than being a mournful look at a devastating breakup, Morning Phase appears to be a more complete effort from beginning to end. “Blue Moon” in particular is a striking highlight and contains easily one of the most beautiful sounding choruses you’ll hear from Beck.

Also listen to: “Loser”, “Where It’s At”, “Girl”, “Earthquake Weather”, “The Golden Age”, “Devils Haircut”, “Sexx Laws”, “Tropicalia”
